While surfing IMDb for a new show to watch I came across True Detective, a show that had received excellent reviews across the board.IMDb ratings had been pretty reliable in giving me an idea of good a show would be. Season one deserved ten on ten, In fact, It's one of the best pieces of television series I've ever seen. That was a masterpiece. We have Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson playing the leads as 'Detective Rust and Marty' respectively, judging by first viewing, the hope & expectation rises automatically, they won't disappoint you. They are both very different characters yet very strong in their characterization, we get to know how they were in the 90s, and how they have changed into the present day, and how they both have different issues. The overall feel of the show is a little dark, but the mood seems perfect for the show & the cast compliment that brilliantly in season one. True Detective could well be right up there in the future but it's not because of their season two and season three.
Season two and season three is a disaster. Don't even bother with season two and three unless you like being disappointed. It sucks. The creators decided to make things exaggerated and overdone. The characters are unlikeable, insincere and overdeveloped. The acting is also atrocious. The script was ridiculous, silly and contrived. You will almost get the feeling that you are watching a B grade movie.No progression of the story, it is soo slow with endless mumbling. This one does not deserve your precious time
It is a big fail for me and I was disappointed considering the creativity and intensity of the first season.
"Sherlock" is a BBC mini-series which is based on the books of the Scottish writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and released in 2010. I have been a fan of Sherlock Holmes from a very young age and my first reaction upon hearing of a modern TV remake was "oh, they are so going to screw this".I was a bit skeptical. However, I am glad to account that, unlike so many other TV adaptations and especially ones that modernize, I found it humorous, clever and above all, entertaining. I think it is always a bit doubtful and tricky when a 19th-century series or film is modernized and most of the time it doesn't work, especially if it is familiar and liked but I was very very impressed. I was extremely delighted with its considerable pedigree and they included a large number of references and flashbacks for the more avid fan, e.g. the use of scratches around a person's mobile phone charger port to indicate a drunkard rather than a pocket watches winding keyhole. In 2001, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg were working on a project about the European liberation of the Allied forces. That was based on the book "Band Of Brothers" by Steven Ambrose. The result was a ten-hour long mini tv-series that could dig a bit deeper into several aspects of the liberation. Such as the training, Normandy, Bastogne or Market Garden. The results are awesome. They made the most historical accurate projections ever to hit the TV screen. You can not find any heroes who'll not get hit by an enemy(like in other movies or tv-series), people get killed and often no coverage is done to show the most pathetic and brutal parts of the war. 'Band of Brothers' follows Easy-company from their training in England, through D-Day, the rest of France (including Bastogne), Holland (including Operation Market Garden), Germany and Austria. We finally have an intense psychological thriller show that doesn't treat its audience like idiots. The creators actually spent some time doing their homework and the result is a work of art. Fantastic characters, iconic cinematography, all thanks to Sam Esmail's ingenious vision. By far it has the closest technical reality when it comes to hacking.No nonsense giant pacmans eating pixels on the screen or progress bars labeled "VIRUS" either. You can see the actual Unix coding on a computer screen. Staring Rami Malek, Christian Slater, and Portia Doubleday. They are brilliant and the plot is very intelligent. Telling the story of a hard-working, struggling cyber engineer with hard drug addiction. It also depicts a realistic representation of how "our democracy has been hacked." It is also a very real-life story with quotes like, "I should just tell her what she wants to hear," and, "We're all living in each other's paranoia."...
